Before I get stuck into Harrogate, there is Booker to read. He is dealing with the asbestos scammers.

The essence of a good scare is that there is always a germ of truth in it – and no more so than asbestos, where there are genuine and serious health risk involved in the brown and blue types. But, for the compensation lawyers, the removal industry, insurance companies and the unions, which make a packet from referral and other fees, these types are not enough to maintain the income stream.

With the help of a dark game played by government officials and Chris Grayling, junior minister at the DWP, therefore, they are extending their tentacles further into the considerably less harmful white asbestos. But now, the farmers are fighting back against an impost which could cost them £6 billion bill. Booker records details of the fight.
